Amazing

AVA SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT! Well, from about 10:30pm to 5am. I was shocked. I kept waking up and staring at her, and I had awful dreams so I still didn't sleep but she did :) She starts out in her crib at 7:30pm and then sometime before midnight she magically makes her way to our bed to snuggle with me and nurse (I absolutely love this time) and then she's fast asleep again. I just love having my warm, soft, little girl asleep next to me. I guess I feel like because she is probably my last baby, I want to savor every sleepy moment with her. I'm sure Scott feels differently, but that's OK haha! Soon she will be sleeping on her own and even he will miss her snuggles every once and awhile. Yay for my Ava Leigh!

The Big Cut

It's all gone-my hair-that is! I've been wanting to cut it since I was pregnant with Ava but my amazing stylist wouldn't do it until after I had the baby AND lost all of my pregnancy weight. She's a strick one but I'm so glad I listened to her. I love it-this morning it took me 15 mintues to go from sopping, wet hair to totally dry and styled hair. It used to take 30-who has 30 minutes to spend on their hair when they have a toddler and an infant?!?!?!? It was bizarre to see so much of my hair on the floor-she literally held out my ponytail and chopped the entire thing off (I let out a little squeel at this point). Anyway, long story short-haha get it?!?!? My birthday is this Monday and I will be 24. I felt I needed a change for my new year :) Here is the new do!

Lesson Learned

Yesterday my entire family took a much needed mid-afternoon nap. The kids each slept for about 45 minutes longer than they usually do...big mistake. Aden ended up throwing a screaming fit in his crib and I couldn't get him to sleep until 9:30, Ava didn't go to bed until 9:45! So much for time with my hubby after the usual 8pm bedtime. A long nap is something that we won't be trying again. I, however, was in sheer heaven because I haven't had a good nap in sooooooooo long. I crawled into bed and slept for almost 3 hours too :) It was good!

Photography Is Love

OK I finally have a few minutes while both of the babies are asleep...last weekend I assisted an amazing photographer for a wedding at the Mission Inn. I loved it! I had no idea how much photographers really work at weddings-my legs were sore the next day from running up and down stairs. It was such a rush! I was able to use a few incredible cameras and gorgeous lenses. I would eventually love to photograph weddings all of the time around the desert. Sooooo...needless to say this has sparked a fire under my bum and I am desperate for a good camera for my birthday (are you reading this, Mommy?!). I mean a GOOD ONE! Unfortunately my "good one" is very pricey--ugg. I have stolen my parent's Nikon and have been taking shots of my babies around my house, experimenting with different lighting ECT I've also found a template that I really love for my future website! I'm hoping to gather great shots/lots of experience over the summer and have my website up and running by the start of next school year. Listen up, Mommies! I would like to shoot all of your babies/families for FREE...AND give you a high resolution disc of the images in exchange for full use of the photos on my future website. If you would like to take me up on this, just let me know. I'm hoping to start shooting families next month! Once I get the website up I will have business cards made up to match it and off we goooooooo! I'm so excited about this :)

Jealousy

It seems as if my son has become a jealous monster. Anytime I am playing with, nursing, changing or giving any sore of attention to Ava, Aden lays on the floor and (very gently) bonks his head on the ground and then fusses and whines, saying, "Owwweeeee owwweeeee" and runs to me so that I can give him kisses and make it better. I think that he is getting a 2 year old molar because he has a big bump in the very back of his mouth. I have also been hit by my precious son a few times in the last couple of days...I think we've entered our terrible two's a bit early!!!!!! Someone SAVE ME from my children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Egged

Last night our lovely house was egged. Scott had to hose everything down before he left for school this morning. I think that it was just a "random" egging because I saw a few eggs in the street around the corner as well. Seriously-why do people do that?! We love our house so much-this makes me so upset. We were egged about 4 years ago too. Oh well-at least Scott noticed it and it was cleaned up before it became too hot outside and it baked onto our little house!

Almost

Scott missed the cut for the US Open by TWO SHOTS. Needless to say, he played so well! He is disappionted but I couldn't be more proud of him. I hope he can see how amazing he is, even though he is upset. There's always next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
