She's One!

My baby love is one year old! We celebrated Ava's first birthday on Saturday, December 27th. We had a little gathering of family and a few close friends. Ava was in an AMAZING mood all night and loved all of the extra attention ;)  This year has gone by so fast, with lots of ups and downs. She has blessed us so much-I never thought I could love a little tiny girl so much! Here are a few fun pictures! She was a pro at tearing apart her cake...

Christmas

Ava's first Christmas! It's so weird to think that last year I was as big as a house...trying to keep my baby in my belly for just a few more days so that we could get past Christmas (she was good and came 2 days after Christmas). The kids were so excited to see their presents under the tree on Christmas morning. Aden got a basketball hoop and knew exactly what to do with it! After a relaxing morning at home, the chaos began. First we were at my Mom's house. Presents, lunch ECT and then at Scott's parent's house for dinner, presents ECT. It was freezing at night and the wind sounded like it was going to knock over their house! All in all it was a great day, the kids have more toys then I know what to do with :)

Halloween (finally!)

I'm finally getting around to posting all about this holiday season...here we go!

Halloween was a fun night for us! Aden was a sailor, and Ava was a fairy! We were at my Mom's house first (Halloween is also my little brother's birthday) and then we headed over to Scott's brother's house for dinner number 2. Here are some sute pics...enjoy!

Sorry my friends...

I just wanted to apologize to all of my lovely ladies for basically disappearing and never returning anyone's phone calls. Ava has cut 4 teeth in the past 2 weeks, so needless to say we are up aallllllll night long. I just haven't been myself, and soon, I will be a better friend-I promise!! (Holly I love you!!!!)

"Gotcha Day"

Seven years ago today, my sisters Ally and Kamila came home to join our family. I never knew how badly I wanted to have little sisters until I met these girls. They are two of the most beautiful, smart, loving, funny and all around amazing children I have ever met, and I am so glad to call them MINE! We recognize this day every year as "Gotcha Day", because it it the day that we "got ya" :)  Bella has a different day...all to herself!

Thanksgiving

This blog is very gross, but I feel that I HAVE to rant and rave a little bit so don't read it if you don't like to be grossed out.

Well...Aden pulled through like a champ and the next day (Wed) he was perfectly fine. So, we went to La Casita (sorry I didn't see you Hailey!!!) and ate a huge, yummy meal. Then the real fun began! I started throwing up just before midnight. Ava was an angel and slept in her room until 2am, at which point she came to bed and nursed, rolled over and thew up all over me. We changed the sheets and layed back down. Ava throws up again. After I threw up for a few hours, Scott started. Ava has diarrhea all over the sheets (I think it's time for new bedding). Then she throws up on the carpet after she wakes up for the day...twice! Scott has thrown up all day and to top it all off, I had to suck it up and go to Morningside for a 4 hour event...not fun. I have never in my life seen/dealt with so many bodily fluids flying everywhere in one day. So this year for Thanksgiving, we are thankful for our toilets, washer and dryer, and carpet cleaning solution. BLAH

Tuesday Blues

Aden has thrown up 5 times in the last 3 and a half hours. We've had one bath, one shower and I'm on the second load of laundry. Please send up a prayer for him, he is so incredibly sad that he is throwing up :(

Amazing

I was in the bathroom, getting ready for the day and Aden and Ava were playing quietly with books in my bedroom. He says to her, "I-luh-voo-bebe".

What more can I say?? :)

Pictures.....?????

Aden woke up feeling like a champ today-yay! My brother Tim came over to take a few family portraits of us for our Christmas card. So....I get my backdrop set up and we all get cleaned up. Everyone wore some sort of black shirt and jeans (except Ava-she wore a black shirt and a pink tutu-because she HAD to wear her new tutu in our Christmas pictures!) Well, to make a long story short, it didn't go as planned. Why did I ever think that we would get a 2 year old and a 10 month old to smile at the same time-let alone SIT STILL at the same time?!?!?! HAHA

Sickie

Last night I had another fabulous event with Morningside...soooooo when I came home Scott told me that Aden wouldn't play in the bath. He just sat there shivering even though the water is always nice and warm. So Scott took both of them out and Aden went to bed about 10 minutes early. I went to check on him at 10:15 when I got home and he was tossing and turning, but settled back down. Ava and I nursed (again) at 4am. Afterwards, I had a feeling my little boy needed me (isn't it ama zing how mommies always "know"?!). I went into his room and felt him head and he was burning up. He woke right up when I touched him and we went into the kitchen to take Tylenol and have some ice cold apple juice. His temp was 101.9 :( He was shaking and so very sad....I stripped off his jammies and we layed on the couch together under the fan to cool off (he was sweating-I was freezing) After a few minutes he looks at me with puffy eyes and says, "Einsteins?!?!?!?!" LOL So we watched THREE Little Einsteines until I couldn't take it anymore and I finally brought him into bed with me, Scott and Ava...good thing we have a Cal King!!! It was definitly family sleepy time. So now it is almost 9am and he is still asleep in our bed. Poor boy...I just really hope that all of this extra rest will help him to feel better so that we can have a nice long weekend with Daddy :)

AVA thinks she is a big girl and is letting go of things and standing. I get so nervous because she looks so small. She's my little squirt ;) She is finally about to break another tooth (molar). She cut 8 so quickly and then we didn't see another one for months.

Don't we all love the wind and cooler weather?!?! It is so nice to be able to go outside with my kids :)

OOOOOH I hear my boy...byebye!

Just So You Know...

I updated my photography blog with all of the news on my most recent events :)

KIDS!
Aden and Ava had a checkup and shots on Tuesday of this week...here are the stats :)

Aden

35.5 inches  68%

Ava
19 lbs 15 oz  52%
28 inches   40%......shortie!

They have done so well after their shots-maybe a little feisty but I'm OK with that! Still no sleep for me and Ava...someday....someday.  Alrighty, I have to go cut Aden's hair LOL

Be an American...VOTE!

This morning I VOTED for the first time! I was so excited to go have my voice heard :)  Actually, I feel a little embarrassed that I have not voted in the past, but there is no time like the present. Everything changes when you have children, so I want to do my part to make sure their future is a good one (corny??).  Anyway, I'm wearing my "I voted" sticker right now HAHA!

Soooo, yesterday I had a meeting at Morningside. I was given the grand tour and was able to talk with "the boss" about what they are looking for as far photographs are concerned. My first event is this Wednesday evening, and then I have another one on Saturday...that one is the "opening ball". It's a black tie affair and I am soooo excited! (I'm also excited about the pay checks LOL)

OK I know that I need to post pictures from Halloween but they are all on my Mommy's camera, so once I get to her house and have a few minutes I will put them up :)

EVERYONE....GO VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Busy Busy

I am becoming a Blogger slacker :)

I have been really busy taking pictures (my first wedding on Saturday) and the kiddies keep me jumping. Today Ava took a 3 and a half hour nap-yay!!!

OK I don't really have time to blog...my website is undergoing major changes and I am so happy with how it is turning out. That is why I have been non existent lately. I'm hoping to have the new version published by tomorrow night. I'll let you all know :)  OH YA...

I was hired at the preferred photographer for Morningside Country Club....hehe!!!!!!!

Oppsies

I forgot to blog this past week :)

I had my Grandma June and Doyle and all of my family over for Grandma's birthday. Whew! I always forget how loud my house can be when aaaalllllllll of the kids are here. My babies love having my brothers and sisters at their house. I didn't have to pay attention to my kids for about 2 hours LOL I know that my Grandma had a great birthday and I hope she will come to my house for her party again next year too...hint hint...I know you are reading this Granma!! HAHA

I am taking so many pictures! I look at my calender on my website now and there are so many booked dates! I am photographing a wedding as a second photographer on the 25th. I am the most excited about that one...AND my amazing and generous hubby told me that I could buy a Speedlite! (flash) Not just any Speedlite...but the Speedlite 580EX II    AHHHHHH! I look at the doorstep everyday to see if ti has arrived.  Also, this coming Monday I am taking PDHS Volleyball pictures. (Scott is the coach-go figure) Desert Photo Lab will be doing the team pictures and I will be outside doing all of the individual and buddy shots. I'm excited because I will get to really use my editing skills to remove blemishes ECT on these poor teenagers haha So fun. I can fix anything. (OK a little bragging never hurt anyone right?)

The babies are great. Ava still never sleeps and she is teething but in the best mood. Yesterday she pooped 5 times, two of those time there was nothing I could do about it so I just stripped her down and in the shower we went. I'm sure you've all had those things happen with your babies as well! Aden is too cool. He is trying to say baseball or basketball (we don't know which) and it coms out like this.....  beeski bowl    I am so crazy about this funny boy. He says "encore!" too. Last night was "kids eat free" at La Casita and every Wednesday they have the guitarist there and Aden LOVES him! We always get  special song played for us at our table and Aden is in heaven.

OK enough rambling. Have a great rest of the week everyone!

Standing

Big Girl

I'm not sure if I have blogged about this in my past posts (and I don't have time to go read through them right now) but Ava is crawling--like--really crawling and has been for a few weeks now. A week after she started crawling, she started pulling up onto things. She stands up holding onto the couch, the ottoman, the bathtub, chairs, she will crawl to you and stand up holding onto your leg! It happened so fast...all of a sudden, she was standing in her crib, bouncing up and down while she held onto the side! I was shocked!!!!!!! Any way, I am so impressed with my little squirt :)

Aden's birthday post 2

I'm finally getting around to finishing up the posts about Aden's birthday so here we go...

Aden got a tricycle for his birthday! He is still working on learning how to ride it :)

Cuddling with Mommy in his jammies...he was really sick on his birthday :(

During his party...so many people...so many presents...he has tired eyes!

He HATED the candle on his cake. It was so cute-he was trying to get out of his high chair while we were singing to him!

I still can't believe that my buddy is two years old! It has gone by so very fast. He is like a little person now, not a baby anymore. I am so thankful that God loved me enough to give me Aden, he has been the greatest joy in my life (Ava, too, but this post all about Aden! LOL) I can't wait to watch him grow and learn during this next year. I love my biggest boy BATS

Aden's B-Day--post 1

Aden woke up on his second birthday feeling yucky...we decided to go up to Oak Glen to pick apples anyway. We figured that being outside in cooler air would make him feel better. Here he is in his car seat on the way there. Unhappy.

He did have a few moments of excitement when we first made it to the orchard. Apples everywhere!

"Daddy I found one!"

This as one of my favorite pictures of the day, Ava and her apple.

Pumpkins (fall is my absolute favorite season)

Carrying my fussy boy back to the car...I am in love with this picture!

Misery. He was asleep about two minutes after I took this picture and we were on our way home. We were in Oak Glen for 1 hour and 15 minutes. ugg.

I am so sad that Aden is having such a hard day today. He loves apples and loves being outside so this has been such a bummer. We will definatly go up to Oak Glen again this season when he is back to his normal happy self. More posts and picture to come....   :( Poor boy

My Silly Boy

This morning I lovingly stuck my children in front of the TV so that I could take a quick shower. When I was done, I heard Aden fussing so I ran to the living room to see what the problem was. This is what I found...

At least he didn't try and climb in while Ava was in it! He's never done that before-it was so funny-he was really stuck LOL

My Avers

Ava was sick for a week. An entire week of misery. She screamed, she cried, she never slept. She wouldn't eat and wouldn't let me put her down. I haven't shaved my legs in so long. She won't sit in her carseat or her high chair. Just when I think I am going to lose my mind from all of her fit throwing, she gives me this...

...and I am ready to do it all over again :)

Lots of random things to say...

First and foremost...Ava is getting over roseola. She had a very high fever and after a few days it broke, then came the spots! They don't itch or bother her in any way, she just looks like the creature from the black lagoon...here she is eating her first big girl cracker...can you see the tiny red spots?? She is covered in them!

I have new glasses! I used to just need them for reading but now they are for part/full time use. I don't think that I look very good in glasses because I'm so fair so I just picked out some really cute and kinda funky ones! Might as well go all out. They are very "loud" LOL

Aden is talking a lot! Every time Ava cries he says, "what happen?" or "not happy". Other fun things he likes to say are:
my baby
meema (instead of mommy)
isco (san fransisco-his favorite book)
cokie (cookie)
ano (piano)
nessa (that is what he calls the Roomba-I have no clue why!)
Anyway, he is just too cute and wonderful and smart and funny and I could just go on and on alllllll day about his adorableness :)

I had a great photo shoot today with a very handsome and sweet  little boy named Justice. Thanks to Holly for hooking us up! His cute face will be up on my website in the next few days so go check it out!  OK nightynight!

Nap!

My babies and I just woke up from a very long afternoon nap! Aden slept in his crib for 3 hours and Ava and I cuddled up in my bed and slept together for 2 hole hours! I can't even remember the last time I napped like that but it felt soooo good. Both of the babies went to the DR yesterday and they both have sore throats. Ava's temp has gotten up to 103.4! She is trying so hard to be nice but she is just so miserable. Anyway...just thought I'd share the blessed nap news! This was a big accomplishment for me (some of you may or may not know that I have a terrible time napping during the day no matter how exhausted I am LOL)

Saturday

It's 8:45pm and the babies are in bed. I'm waiting for Scott to come home from a volleyball tournament in Hemet so things are pretty quiet right now. This afternoon, Ava started getting really fussy. I picked her up to give her kisses and noticed that she was pretty warm. Her temp was 101.7...she has been teething. I gave her Tylenol and Oragel and she went down for a little nap. I hate teething. It's so unfair for them. She wouldn't eat dinner and wouldn't even suck on the little "mesh feeder" with a piece of nectarine in it. All she wants to do is lay in my arms and nurse. I'm happy to oblige but Aden needs his mommy as well. I guess I really having nothing too interesting to post about...it's just quiet in my house. I find that weird :) I wonder where my book went.....I was reading earlier.....I think...hmmm.

On the gooooooo!

OK. We're toast. She's crawling (sort of). Yay!

She's also teething...notice the tiny teeth marks??

Snack time for the babies...

just a random picture of cute cookies I made haha!

Tagged

I've been tagged! Here are 6 unspectacular  things about myself...

1. I am obsessed with socks. It will be 110 degrees outside and I will come home, wash and lotion my feet, and put on a nice pair of fuzzy socks. To me, socks make a bad day better :) I probably have 30 pairs of socks and an entire drawer designated as the "sock drawer".

2. I can't go to church unless mine and the kid's outfits are picked out and ready to wear (washed, ironed if needed) the night before. AND if poor Scott comes out and even remotely matches me, he must turn around and pick something else out. Sometimes he has to try a few times before it's right, and sometime I just have to go into his closet and pick something out for him....come to think of it, this might explain why we are rarely at church these days...hmm.

3. I've had a gym membership for 4 months and I have only went twice. I think that the kid's room is waaaaaay too dirty and I didn't like the girls that helped out in there. I am very particular about who watches my precious babies (I don't get out much, I guess) and these people just don't cut it. SOOOO, I waste $50 a month for mine and Scott's gym memberships, all the while holding on to the hope that someday, someday, someday, I will get to go to yoga again!

4.  (stealing this one from Holly) I love to read. Right now I'm reading "Anticancer: A New Way Of Life" by David Servan-Schreiber MD PhD.  You can find it at Costco right now for only $14.99 and it is just AMAZING! It will change the way you think about everything you do-I promise.

5. I have no time to call people back. If you call me and want to chat please don't take offense if I rush you off of the phone, swear I will call you in 10 minutes and then you don't hear from me for a week. It's not that you aren't important, or that I have forgotten about you, it's just that I still don't get any sleep and at the end of the day when the babies are finally asleep, I am to tired to talk.

6. If someone puts dirty dishes on the "clean dishes" side of my sink, I freak out. The left side is for clean dishes to sit and dry once they've been washed and the right side is for dirty dishes. I really don't like it when the left side of the sink gets germs in it and then I have to clean it out for the next set of clean dishes to go in. Yes, I do have a dishwasher but somethings are just too big or not dishwasher safe so they go in the CLEAN side of the sink. haha. DO NOT come to my house and do dishes for me-you will just give me anxiety :)

OK WELL...now I have to tag 6 people...but everyone I know has already been tagged :( I guess I need to make more blogger friends!

I Know They Knows He's Gone

Yesterday I took Scott to the airport. He is on his way to Milwaukee for the US Mid-Amateur Championship. He will be gone at least until Monday. This morning, Aden decided to wake up at 4:30am. These things never happen when Scott is home. Why, you ask?? I have no idea. He never went back to sleep (sigh). Oh well-maybe we can all nap together this afternoon.

I have been hearing the nicest things about my website-YAY! Thanks to everyone who wrote and called to talk to me about it :) OHHHH and especially thanks to my GRANDMA KATY who pointed out a few spelling errors that hopefully no one else noticed! I guess when I was working on this thing late at night my brain went to sleep.

Little Miss AVA is sitting up now and she rarely tips over. She has 7 teeth now (I might have said that in a previous post) and she says "Mama" all of the time. She is sooooo very close to crawling. She sort of does "the worm" like Aden did, where she lunges forward onto her chest to get around. Aden is having lots of fun trying to say big words like "telescope" and "spaghetti" (TRYING haha)     OH YA A few days ago I was cooking and my cupboard broke and sent all of my plates flying in my face. They shattered all over the kitchen in a million pieces. Luckily no one was hurt and I put the kids straight in their carseats and drove to my parent's house. Scott came home and found a disaster all over the place and no family in sight so he was pretty scared when we finally talked-poor guy. He cleaned and cleaned so that the kids would be safe and not step on any glass. OK This has been a long one! Here a few cute pictures from the past few weeks.

Oh Ya I forgot...

last night Ava slept from 10:15pm-4:10am!! I love this kid :)

TODAY IS THE DAY!

It's official-my website is up! Please go look at it and let me know what you think. I feel a little nervous today-like I'm waiting to see if I got an "A" on my test of something LOL AHHHHH

24-48 hours of waiting....

I DID IT! I published my website before midnight on September 1st. However, it will take 24-48 hours to actually show up on the web. I didn't know that would happen...oh well! I'll let everyone know when it is viewable :)

5 and a half hours

My precious baby angel girly slept from 9:15pm-2:45am!!!!!!!!! I can't even tell you how proud I am to say that. I slept for 5 and a half hours straight! I woke up feeling like a new woman today LOL

OK well I have lots to do because today is the unofficial launch of my website :) It WILL be put up today...it just might be closer to midnight haha. I'll let everyone know when it's published.

Good Girl

Last night Ava had a really hard time going to sleep. She fussed in my arms for 30 minutes...finally I layed her in her crib to fuss by herself. Eventually she cried, so I walked with her and she went to sleep. She kept waking up, crying, and I kept having to pat her. Scott was out with his friends from work last night so I crawled into bed at 9pm. I heard her fussing through the monitor but she settled herself down. She slept from 9pm-midnight! I know that doesn't sound like a lot but it is for Ava. THEEEEEN....she nursed in bed with me and slept until 4:20am!!!!!!!! I was so excited that I slept for over four hours in a row. Then she slept and was up for the day at 6am. I can totally handle this schedule so if she wants to keep it up then I am fine with it! I know it sounds bad-but it is so much better than before. Everyone PLEASE PRAY that she will settle down at night-I really need it. I was so proud of her and happy to see her when she woke up this morning. Speaking of waking up---isn't today a beautiful day?!?!?! We woke up to a black sky, complete with thunder and lightening. I have a huge fear of lightening (long story) but it has greatly diminished since I've had children. Now I want to be brave for them (so they aren't afraid of it) instead of running and hiding under the covers when I see a flash of light or hear a rumble.

Yesterday was my Daddy's birthday! We had a big dinner with the whole family (except Noelle!) at Las Casuelas Quinta. Yuuuuuummy :) Scott had v-ball practice so he was late. My babies were so very well behaved. Sometime I get nervous about taking them both out by myself because they are still really little and can get fussy verrrry fast. Toddler+infant+diaper bag+2 highchairs/highchair covers+2 sippy cups+baby food+a million others things to remember/carry=one anxiety filled Mommy! HAHA My anxiety is getting better though (I think??!?!?! LOL)

OK this post is long enough. I haven't had time to ramble on and on for awhile so here it is :) Have a great, rainy day everyone.

Friday, August 29, 2008

I'm still here!

I haven't posted in awhile so here is what's going on in our house...

Aden-
likes to eat crayons
cut his second molar-only 2 more to go!
is starting to say "Mommy" instead of "Mama"---so amazingly adorabale!

Ava-
still wakes up 4 times a night
has 7 teeth
is trying sooooo soooo hard to crawl

Scott-
leaves next Wed to go to Milwaukee to golf
starts teaching on Tuesday

Me-
going crazy trying to get my website up by Monday (I promised myself Sept 1st would be my "go live" day....easier said than done!) Finding the right music has been absolute TORTURE. I am a musician so I am overly critical and it is holding everything up. I'll get there-eventually. Every free second I have is spent on the computer. Next week I'm getting new glasses so that I can actually see what I'm doing :)

THE END

5 Years?!?!?!

Scott and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary on Saturday. I can't believe that we have been married for 5 years-it really doesn't seem like it has been that long. My brother and his lovely new wife came over to babysit and we went to dinner and a movie. I haven't seen a movie since Ava was 3 weeks old! We were away from the babies for 4 hours!!!!!!! It was so very nice to get away and just concentrate on each other. He got me and iPod Touch and I am so excited about it. It was a great day :)

Today I went to the spaaaaaaaaaaa with Holly and Jessica. We each had a facial and it was amazing. The kids were with Scott and they did a really good job while I was gone-Ava even took a bottle :)  I feel so refreshed and rejuvenated after this nice weekend. I haven't had this much time away from my babies in forever! It was a great weekend for me.

I love my hubby sooooo much...in the next five years, I will try to not yell at him as much HAHA

I Won I Won!!

I have been watching an item on eBay for the last few days. It is a lens for my camera...a good one...a reaaaaaly good one! You know-one of those white ones that you see on TV with the thin red ring around the end (that signifies that it is of professional quality).  I didn't bid on it, I just sat back and waited. So last night I decided that it was a good business investment and that I HAD TO HAVE IT. I sat in front of my computer and watched the clock count down. When there was only 45 seconds left I entered my bid. Immediately eBay told me that I was just outbid. OH NO! I entered another bid-OH NO-outbid again. So I sat and held my breath-when the clock said only 4 seconds left I pounced-like a crazy mama tiger from the jungle! HAHA I won! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH! I have never bid on something on eBay so I am soooo excited that I actually won. I have very sneaky tactics-no one even knew I was watching the item and then I won it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK I need to settle down :) Now I really need to photograph people and get going because I have to pay for this lens! It is used though so that helped-it's in great condition. It looks absolutley flawless in the upclose pics. OK I have to get my coffee-I am just soooo excited :)

Monday, August 11, 2008

blahhhh

Why must both of my children wake up at 5:30am when Scott is out of town? Ava cut two more teeth last night...that makes 5. I guess that is all I can muster up right now. The coffee is ready. Thank goodness

The Dentist

This morning Aden had his second visit to the dentist. While we were in the waiting room, a mean little boy pushed Aden into a stool so that made the visit start out on a rough note. The nice lady who works there let us go play in the back room so that the mean little boy would stay away from my sweet little angel! ;) Anyway, he was happy as a clam until I layed him back into Dr Okamono's lap-then the screaming began! His scream is the most unbelievable thing you have ever heard. My ears have started ringing soooooo many times after he has screamed next to me in the past...anyway...no cavities! Yay! Also, his little tooth that he bumped a few weeks ago looks perfectly normal. The surrounding gum tissue is healthy and it has returned to it's original color. I am so glad that his little mouth is perfect. No more blue tooth. The Dr said that he most likely had a little bruising in the tooth but that it goes away just like any other bruise would. So we left with a sticker, a new red toothbrush and some seriously cool neon green sunglasses!

Church

We haven't been going to church for a long time now. Occasionally, we brave the screams of our poor little boy and go to Southwest, only to pick him up from his classroom and find that he has cried-the entire time. It's just easier not to go at this point. I know that this has been VERY detrimental to my walk with God. I miss singing at church so much sometimes that I don't even want to go and see people that I know leading worship. It just makes me sad. I don't know why Scott and I never get called to sing at SWCC, it will forever remain a mystery to me. I am very bitter, and I hate being bitter. We decided that we HAVE to go to church, so this morning we tried a new one! Wow-what a huge step for us. We went to "The Rock" near Cook Street. I liked it, but it was very small and we felt a bit out of place. Aden actually played in the nursery (after his initial panic attack) and he and Ava were in the same room-which I absolutely loved!!!!!! I don't think we will go back but I feel it is a step in the right direction. It was good to worship. I know that things will never be the same for Scott and I as far as church is concerned. We fell in love at Southwest, singing and acting together. I've recently admitted to Scott (and myself) that I will never find something in life that I love to do as much as being on stage. I do love photography-it's given me a chance to be creative again-but it will never be the same. I guess only people who are involved in music and drama can understand the void that you experience when those things are missing from your life. It is miserable. I'm aching for it...

Enough of that. So we did go to church and next week we will try a new one. Maybe someday we will find our way back to Southwest. Maybe.

The Beach

This past Wednesday, we took the kids to Oceanside for our first mini family vacation. Unfortunately, it was NO vacation! Aden hated our little place on the beach and screamed/fussed for hours each day. Then once he discovered the ocean was outside of our door, he would stand at the sliding glass door and cry. Ava was an angel, but we couldn't get either of them to take a decent nap. It turns out that Aden is quite the little water baby. He runs straight into the waves, without a care in the world. It was amazing to see that he was still so trusting of his Mommy and Daddy. He just knew that we would be right behind him when the bigs waves came to knock him over. His squeals and laughter were so precious, and we were able to get some great pictures. I tried to dip Ava's feet in the water but she would curl up her legs whenever the water would come her way-it was so sweet. She did put her toes in the wet sand, but that was enough for her I guess. On Thursday night, we decided to put the kids in the car at bedtime and drive home while they were sleeping. We were supposed to leave Friday morning to go to Lindsey Sowels' service so we figured that leaving early would be best for everyone. Sooooooo, our first family vacation was short lived, and alot more work than we thought it would be. There were some great moments though...
